I’ve been observing my grand daughter for her magical abilities, inherited or otherwise, as well as an array of newborns having worked in a large metropolitan mother-baby unit where there are often up to 30 newborns fresh out of the box. I’m now thoroughly convinced that every child is born with inherent magical abilities.
My observations have been limited to a cross match of full and modestly pre-term term healthy newborns from varied socioeconomic, international and racial backgrounds with parents of variable education and careers. It appeared to make no difference to their magic – which makes me curious about their past lives and what magical abilities they’ve brought forward into their current incarnation. The more magically tuned babes all had one thing in common – they got your attention and held it with an intense focus, sent out a cord of energy from their heart chakra to us Nurses, refusing to release that cord until they received the comfort and care they required at that moment, in contrast to the other newborns who just cried.
Alexandria, now age 18 months, is becoming more and more animated and proficient with her charms and spells. I watch her practicing on family and friends, using her toys and a particularly a soft little brown toy dog to cast her spells.
I initially observed the intense focus as her eyes narrowed with pupillary dilation accompanied by breathwork. The slow inhalation through her nose followed by soft exhalation through her mouth and the intense expression as she sends her energy out from her heart and brow chakra and manifests her desires. That was in the hospital on her birth day, and she’s been steadily increasing that focus ever since. Of course, I’ve encouraged it, worked with it, enhanced it with Earth Magic in the form of crystals, as I did with her Mother when she was an infant and toddler. What I’ve gleaned is the babes adore the Earth Magic because they can sense and feel the crystal energies in their bodies. Her Mother and I introduced the crystals to her in the womb and later in the nursery, reiterating the magical properties of each crystal as the child grasped them in her tiny fingers. Today, she recognizes the crystal malas I wear for her on my wrist,. The child sees and feels their energy immediately upon my greeting her, even when the malas are hidden under a sleeve and out of sight. Let me give note, I have tested this numerous times without the crystals to see her response – she is quite adamant when I am wearing them, and nearly ignores my arrival, absorbed in her play, when I do not wear them.
I will also mention, she is not the only child I have worked with in the Magical Arts who has given me this response. There have been many others through the years, including both my children, a girl and boy. It was always a joy to observe their little friends, as well.
Hematite could always be utilized to slow the energies and calm them. When they were being rambuncious, a small globe of hematite in the palm of a hand elicited a response of “but this one makes me want to be still and sit down”. Exactly!
Rose Quartz held over the heart chakra was a great healer of tears and sadness and disappointment when a cherished play day fell through. 💖
Lapiz Lazuli enhanced learning, cognition, problem solving and decision making like a soft wave over their conscious awareness opening their intuitive abilities to grasp concepts with greater ease.
And when I sent them off to school, I kept pieces of Selenite and Black Tourmaline in their backpacks to keep them safe in their journeys.
I love seeing the little ones experience and work with the Earth Magic out in nature, noting how it resonates with their mind, body and spirit as they entered into the woods for a walk. I’ve observed their auras change in colours and grow as they feel the energies emanating from the forest floor and delight in sighting small creatures like chipmunk and squirrel that scurried about.
Additionally, numerous studies, particularly from Child Psychologists in the Netherlands, note how children’s psyches thrive in gardens and forests.
Earth Magic and babes go so well together, and supports psychic and emotional grounding and awareness to enhance childhood joy and calm. Developmentally, of course, that same state of joy and calm sets the stage for maturity into a peaceful and heart-connected teen and adulthood for a healthy, balanced life.
Take a few moments each day to place a beautiful crystal in your child’s hand and close your hand over theirs and hold it over their heart chakra. Initially, you don’t have to say anything other that to ask the child to feel the crystal’s energy – the child will do this intuitively, and may give you feedback. Let them expand and explore with the feeling, affirming them as they sense the energy with words like ‘trust what you feel’ and ‘there is no right or wrong, just feel’ Not only will this enhance consciousness and awareness, it will also teach the child to trust their inner Self.
